What is Buttercream?
A traditional bakery icing that maintains its softness. Easy to cut through, buttercream can be colored and is used for filling cake layers. It is also used for decorations such as flowers, borders, swags, and other cake decorations.

How far in advance should I place a custom cake order?
 Any special occasion cakes (Birthday, Wedding, Graduations, etc.) with basic designs or a photo should be ordered 2-3 weeks before your occasion.  Please call and check for availability for tiered cakes.

What do you mean by "custom?"
Sweet Cake House will create an item based on your vision of the ideal cake for you. We will use our expertise and your ideas to develop a unique creation that sets you apart.

How far ahead should I make my wedding cake appointment?
We suggest you call to book your appointment at least 3-4 weeks before you would like to come in, and plan to come in about 6-8 months before your occasion.

How much do your custom and wedding cakes cost?
Due to the unique nature of our custom and wedding cakes, there is really no set price for a specific cake. Several factors will be considered in determining your total price. First your base price will be calculated by multiplying the number of servings of cake times the price per serving for the flavor you select. Some items such as dummy tiers of cake or details may be additional, and are priced out per item separately. While we will always try to accommodate pricing requests in store or via email, it is best to schedule an appointment for a consultation. This allows us to factor in as many of these details as possible to provide you with a more accurate quote.

What do I need to bring with me to my cake consultation?
Occasion date, approximate number of guests, where the party will be held and directions to your venue, and any other ideas or details you would like included in your cake design such as color swatches, invitations, details from your wedding dress, etc.

Do I need to pay a deposit?
Yes, when booking an order, we will ask for a 50% deposit.  This is to ensure that we start working on fondant flowers/toppers, etc.  The deposit is deducted from the final bill, so you don't pay any extra in total. The final payment is due at least two weeks before the event.

How do I cancel my order?
To cancel an order, you must contact Sweet Cake House 48 hours before the planned pickup or delivery time. Wedding, Groom's and any custom cake cancellations follow a different cancellation policy and require two weeks notice. There will be a 20% non-refundable fee in the event that the order is cancel after the two weeks notice.

Do you accept credit cards and can I pay for my order in advance?
We accept Visa and Mastercard. Our sales staff will be glad to assist you if you are paying in advance for your order.

Do you deliver?
Yes. The cost of delivery varies on the location.  Delivery within a 5 mile radius from the bakery is free. Delivery to other areas will incur a charge.  Please contact for a no obligation quote.  The delivery quote will also contain a charge for setting up the cake/cupcakes for the event.
